Contains a short memoir outlining Bloomfield's military service in the Philippines during the surprise attack on Clark Field, his capture at Bataan, and his internment in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp for the duration of the war. Describes his health, the living conditions in the POW camp, and his early death after returning to the United States. Includes photocopies of a war rations book, newspaper articles about Bloomfield, telegrams sent from his POW camp, and a photograph of him with his wife after the war.
